This is great... can I swipe it for my church blog?
Having gone to a few churches in my life, and not quite finding my niche... I'll tell you what I told my husband (who has gone to a Non-denom for most of his life, and where my family still considers "home"). He made a comment about them having communion last week, and how strange it was that they've had it 2 times already this year. Normally they have it at Christmas. I told him, "Yeah, that is why I like my church. We have communion every week. I don't know, it kinda centers my soul and refocuses me."
I'm a CNA, and to be honest, it's hard to be patient with some patients. I'm more so when I've taken communion. It's more than just a mental reminder, it's a physical one. I remember that Christ gave compassion for a bunch of grumpy sinners, and so I can give compassion to some grumpy patients! LOL
I've liked how purely friendly everyone is. It's not a show. People seem to not have an unkind thought about anyone in the congregation. The ONLY thing I miss about the church of my youth is that we had a mix of hymns and modern songs.
I also dig that women can achieve so much. When I was young, I wanted to be a Navy Chaplain, but I was just a girl. Perhaps things would be different if I was raised in the Episcopal church? So many places tell us what we CAN'T do (not just girls, but anyone.) It's nice to know that there's a place where we can be used how God wanted us to be.
Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now keep it up!
